A written memoir is wonderful for preserving history, but often misses the emotions that make a story come alive. A movie records your voice, your tears, your laughter, and everything else that makes you special.

Also, writing a memoir is a huge task, and something a lot of people don’t finish. Saving your life story on film with us is as simple as sitting down for a friendly, guided chat.

And finally, it’s all very well writing a memoir, but are you a great writer? And will anyone ever read it? A professionally made movie will be watched time and time again; just imagine the joy of seeing your mum or dad telling their life story in a professionally made film fifty years from now.

We create a unique discussion plan for each client - but a ‘typical’ 40 minute CLASSIC film will include your mother & father, your childhood and siblings, your main career, your partner, and your children.

The 60 minute PLUS film allows time to explore some extra topics, plus more time for reflection on your life.

We have interviewed people up to the age of 97, including people with terminal illnesses, and everyone we’ve worked with so far has loved the experience. We bend over backwards to accommodate the individual’s needs in each film, and we are happy to take breaks etc. We guide the interviewee through every stage of their story in a friendly, relaxed, no pressure chat, and try to approach every film with the right balance of interest, fun and sensitivity.

We film using two 4K cameras to film both a ‘wide’ and ‘close up’ shot, which creates an interview with a really professional look, and gives us way more options when editing your story than shooting with a single camera, and cutting between two angles makes the film much more engaging for the viewer. (In fact, we use three cameras when shooting a two-person interview!)

Of course! We send you a copy of the initial edit so you can watch it and give us feedback.

Absolutely. An All About Me Film makes a wonderful gift for a loved one. Friends or family members often share cost of the film, and we can supply gift vouchers to give to the recipient on the day.

You could make your own movie, but it’s a really big job to plan, set up, interview and edit several hours of footage on your own, and one of those things that people tend to not quite get round to. Doing it with us takes out all the hard work for you, and you’re guaranteed an expert job using professional equipment.

Of course! In fact the ‘All About Us Film’ is specifically designed to interview a couple. An ‘All About Us Film’ makes the perfect wedding or anniversary gift.

A memory video can be incredibly comforting to someone suffering cognitive decline. We interview people with early-stage dementia, although every person’s experience is different so please contact us to discuss.

What you include in your film is entirely up to you. It’s a celebration of your life; we’re here to save the things you want to talk about.

The film and copyright is 100% your private property - you own it outright and you choose who gets to view the film.

We can split the payment over 2, 3 or 4 equal installments; all of which must be paid by the filming date. The first 50% is 100% refundable until 4 weeks before the filming date - please see terms and conditions for full details.

Travel to locations within 2 hours drive of central Melbourne is included in the cost of our films. We do charge additional fees towards the cost of our travel to regional Victoria and interstate films, and we usually film several interstate films in one trip in order to minimise these costs. The typical additional charge for travel will be between $200/300 (regional Victoria) to $400/500 (interstate) depending on where you are located.
